ABSTRACT
Background: Psychological distress stands as an important element which influences both well-being and quality of life (QoL) among individuals. QoL assessment requires comprehension of psychological distress relationships in healthcare facilities that serve patients. The research evaluated the relationship between psychological distress together with quality of life in two healthcare settings of Allied Hospital Faisalabad.
Aim: The goal of this study evaluated psychological distress relationship to quality of life among patients who visited two facilities in Allied Hospital Faisalabad.
Methods: The research took place at Allied Hospital Faisalabad during the period of February 2024 to January 2025. A total of 100 patients participated in this study as a part of its simple random sampling. Both Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10) and World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) questionnaire were used to measure psychological distress and QoL. Statistical analysis conducted through descriptive and inferential methods discovered the relationships between psychological distress and QoL.
Results: The clinical research showed psychological distress creates a detrimental impact on quality of life in patient populations. Higher psychological distress levels corresponded to decreased scores on the QoL evaluation. Results show that higher psychological distress leads patients to experience decreases in their physical and psychological health status alongside their social well-being.
Conclusion: The research demonstrated that psychological distress leads to deteriorated quality of life among Allied Hospital Faisalabad patients. Implementing correct mental health interventions shows promise to enhance the total wellbeing as well as health-related quality of life for people receiving healthcare treatment.
